Product Portfolio Manager - London
Product Portfolio Manager is required by our client to lead, prioritise and manage the overall service line product roadmap including where appropriate, advising on platform upgrades and requests for new Platform features.
A key requirement of the role will be to maximise the investment made in new products by exploiting them across many digital communication channels. The Product Portfolio Manager will seek to validate products with customers as soon as possible to accelerate the pace of product development.
Key accountabilities include:
* Develop and deliver a demand management model for the Product Portfolio
* Lead the product development team
* Accountable for the overall product road map and backlog
* Manage the process of product prioritization against business need and return on investment
* Manage the transition of the product backlog from the Application Development partner into the Application Service Line
* Develop relationships with key internal customers and external suppliers
* Assist with creating and documenting key business processes
* Responsible that Service Delivery Assurance meets the required level
* Manage the release management interface between Product Development and Application Maintenance partner
* Manage Agile development projects that are not covered by delivering the backlog or enhancement requirements
* Engage with customers to discuss current and future products
* Responsible for producing budget & forecast reports
The Key objectives include:
* Embed the principles of digital product portfolio management into the Standards and Platforms and leading the co-located 3rd party product development partner
* Creating and operating an effective demand and capacity planning process that balances the needs of the Products customers, delivering the backlog and responding to new requests
* Management of 3rd party Agile product development partner
* Close working relationship with the Service Delivery Manager to co-ordinate product enhancements and releases
* Close working relationship with the Business Manager to understand and forecast demand from customers
The job requirements are:
* Proven success and track record in a comparable role managing and developing a portfolio of digital products
* Experience of Agile product development and managing product development teams
* Has a passion for User Experience, and understands the business case for prioritising it
* Possesses excellent collaborative problem solving skills
* Can manage multiple programmes / projects whilst working under tight time constraints
* Evidence of championing innovation across ways of working, technology and product delivery
The desirable criteria is as follows:
* Experience of working with an Enterprise Web Content Management System
* Qualified Scrum Master
* Creative or Digital Agency experience
* Degree and / or professional qualification in appropriate discipline
* Extensive and relevant post qualification experience in digital product development over a wide range of complex situations.
