Global Head of Strategy & Operations, Commodities & Energy
Primary Objective
Play a pivotal role in driving the strategy and growth agenda through thought leadership around current and potential business strategies, customer needs, global markets and partnerships. Drive development of the Commodities & Energy strategy to ensure continued growth and profitability of the business. Own ';operationalising’ the strategy through development of the business scorecard and related metrics. Lead major strategic initiatives including acquisition integrations. Directly influence the direction and success of the business as well as lead cross functional and cross-sector teams in identifying, developing and implementing strategic initiatives.
Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities
* Develop, communicate and champion the C&E business strategy.
* Define and own the business scorecard and performance measures.
* Establish and monitor key operating metrics and mechanisms for reporting and presenting the information in a way that supports decision-making.
* Develop the commercial strategies that optimize revenue growth and profitability.
* Manage the C&E mergers and acquisitions plan.
* Lead the integration of acquisitions and major strategic initiatives.
* Manage the customer and markets intelligence activities including:
* Front End Customer Strategy (FECS) research to maintain up-to-date information on market size, competitive position and customer needs
* Monitoring industry trends and identifying long-term opportunities
* In-depth research and product visioning work on strategic opportunities
* Customer intelligence needs
* Create and lead the Commodities & Energy Investment Committee

Qualifications
* Strong, relevant experience, either as a consultant, or in a strategy role at peer company or competitor
* Strong strategy development skills and knowledge either from a top-four consulting firm or fortune 500 corporate development and strategy team
* Strong finance skills (M&A/trading environment/business development preferable)
* Proven record of growth, profitability and goal achievement
* Exposure to a Company Board and its operating mechanisms and rhythms preferred
* Strong intellect and analytical skills, including the ability to translate business strategies into viable operational plans
* Displays strong public presence with the talent to present and influence diverse audiences
* Requires a strong intellect and ability to deal with complex and ambiguous situations
* Requires knowledge and practical applications of business and process-mapping techniques
* Proven ability to manage complex, concurrent, time sensitive projects
