Low latency, High throughput, DMA, FIX, Java, Electronic trading, E-Trading developer required for a Top Tier Investment Bank based in London.

The requirement is for a core Java Senior developer working for the CORE development team. The team is working on building frameworks & infrastructure components that will be used across the applications of ETT (Low-latency DMA, Smart routing, Algo engines, Market data, messaging engines, etc). The systems have been built on a Java framework with next-generation cutting edge low latency and high throughput at the heart of the application.
Specifically, the following skills are required:
· In depth understanding of core Java API’s (collections, concurrency, nio etc) - Must have extensive understanding and proven industrial experience with multithreaded systems, working knowledge of the Java garbage collector, familiar with low latency IO
· Demonstrable experience of front office system design and architecture, or familiarity with problems and solutions of high throughput low-latency real-time systems.
· Development practices - Must be able to use test driven development and be familiar with UML and OO design. Should have experience with Eclipse, SVN and continuous build servers.
· Team Player - Must be able to work with and help more junior members as well as take technical direction
from the team lead.
· In-depth experience of sockets and understanding of network connectivity
· In-depth understanding of multithreading techniques and synchronization primitives
The ideal candidate will also have:
· Business Knowledge - Understanding of equity markets and their communication technologies
· Knowledge of FIX (heartbeating, login, sequence numbers, message types etc)
· Experience with other programming languages (C++, Python, etc)
This is a very technical role, so you will be happy to work alone. You will be part of a team too so you need to be able to communicate effectively to others members of the team. THIS IS NOT A FRONT OFFICE ROLE, but you are working on a highly valuable and important platform.
