My Birmingham based client is looking for a Progress Developer. The purpose of this role will be to assisting in business / functional requirements definition.* The evaluation, design and specification of technical solutions.* The development and comprehensive testing of solutions.* Supporting User acceptance testing.* Data migration.* Project implementation and roll-out support.* The production of project documentation and support materials, including User or Support team manuals.* Effective liaison with development team as well as business and support teams.* The provision of some 2nd line support.* Developing business systems within an Industrial or distribution environment.* Deployment of Progress applications in a Citrix Environment.* Progress WebClient, HTML or SQL Server skills, Experience of Informix * Technologies and applications used: Progress OE10, Progress Appserver, PVCS - Version Control, Citrix windows terminals via MPLS WANSkills: * A minimum of 3 years Progress 4GL Programming in both character and GUI* A minimum of 12 months Appserver development experience.* Experience of application partitioning (Splitting Screen handling and Business logic) * Excellent communication skills* Enjoy the challenge of bridging the gap between non-technical Users and technical suppliers. * Be able to present your ideas and such things as new processes and procedures in clear concise English either verbally or in written form, in a logical and appropriate manner for the target audience. * Be a good listener able to quickly comprehend new concepts or solutions and to appreciate the business implications.* Be self-motivated and have excellent time planning and organisational skills. * Work well individually and as part of a team.![]()
