Technical Analyst (SAN/Servers/Storage) - Permanent Opportunity - Bradford (West Yorkshire)
Purpose of Role Working within the Enterprise Systems team (part of IT Infrastructure and Operations Services) our client is looking to recruit a Server and Storage Technical Analyst. This position will have specific responsibility for the installation, configuration and support of both development and production server and storage infrastructures. Tasks will include design, documentation and subsequent installation, configuration and support of infrastructure required to sustain the various phases of server and storage implementation, from development through to live transition and support.
Skills & Experience Required:
- A proven background and sound up to date knowledge of the principles and theory relating to the installation, management and support of the HP-UX or Red Hat Linux operating system within a large
-scale, multi-site corporate environment
- A comprehensive understanding and experience of managing storage area networking (SAN) infrastructures preferably to include HP disk storage arrays (XP, 3PAR, EVA)
- Knowledge of HP Storage Works Continuous Access configuration and management
- Knowledge of HP c7000 Blade Centre configuration and support
- Experience of providing IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery services combined with a solid understanding of Data Backup and Recovery
- A detailed understanding of CLI and Shell Scripting with a proven track record of deploying these skills within a large-scale, multi-site corporate UNIX environment
- A solid understanding of performance monitoring and tuning techniques in Unix/Oracle based environments
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting
- DNS, routing, IP port allocation, interoperability with firewalls and load balancing devices
- A broad understanding of Service Management principles and a proven commitment to the delivery of service excellence
- The ability to use a wide range of communication and interpersonal skills
- Good problem solving and resolution skills
- A proven ability to produce and maintain high quality documentation
