Mobile Development Manager - Central London

Sector leading financial publisher providing information and data services to the global finance community is in the process of rapidly extending its portfolio of digital services. Mobile and tablet products are core to this.
An experienced Mobile / Tablet App Development manager is required to ensure that that our mobile products are innovative and developed in-line with business requirements. The role will involve working with globally distributed product teams, technology services and off-shore/on-shore suppliers. A strong technical development background is mandatory.
A successful candidate will have a proven background in managing mobile development teams, excellent project management skills and great communication skills.

The development manager will be responsible for:
* Engaging with stakeholders at project initiation to ensure a clearly defined user experience
* Working with business sponsors and technology leads to create project plans, managing assumptions, dependencies, costs and risks
* Managing the day to day planning and development of a number of mobile projects across different business units including existing on-going projects
* Ensuring the continued use of appropriate technologies, architecture and security frameworks across all mobile projects
* Overseeing external agencies to ensure that their contribution meets expectations
* Providing the technology management team and project sponsors with timely status reports, raising and managing keys issues and risks
Mandatory Skills & Experience
A successful candidate must have:
* In-depth understanding and experience of the IOS ecosystem including project set-up, managing developer and enterprise portal processes, working with iTunes Connect including analysing crash reports
* Understanding of other mobile ecosystems e.g. Android, Windows Mobile
* Experience of agile development methodologies
* Development experience across a number of mobile platforms and with relevant technologies such as Objective-C, Java, Javascript, HTML5, Sencha and Phonegap
* Experience developing for phones and tablet devices
* Experience managing / co-ordinating tasks carried out by external suppliers
* Strong communication skills with technical and non‐technical colleagues
* Experience of defining and using web services, API’s, Content Management Systems

This will be an initial 6 month contract, offered at £400-450pd.
