Windows 7 / migration / upgrade / SCCM (System Centre Configuration Manager) office 2010/13
My prestigious client in London is looking for a Lead Windows 7 Specialist on initial 6 months contract at £350 per day, potential for extensions. The project is to upgrade the company's desktop estate from Windows XP / Office 2007 to Windows 7 / Office 2013. Some of the daily responsibilities the Ideal candidate / Technical Lead would be facing:
·Work with the Project Manager to assist with project initiation tasks (business and user requirements gathering/assessment, user categorisation, risk/issue identification, rollout planning, resource recruitment etc.)
·Design and implement a thorough testing plan to ensure corporate applications will work with Windows 7/Office 2013 and, where issues are identified, identify remedial actions
·Engage with the Service owners of the System Centre Configuration Manager platform to ensure that:
oThe SCCM platform is correctly implemented with a Primary Site in the UK and global Secondary Sites/Distribution Points/Client Sites
oThe SCCM platform is used to create, and deploy, a standard Windows 7/Office 2013 build in line with Information Security/Service Delivery requirements
oThe SCCM platform is used for licence and asset management
oThe SCCM platform is used for endpoint patch management
·Work with technical resources from Service Delivery and other project teams to design a framework governing application delivery methods (i.e. local installation, application streaming etc.)
·Work with technical resources from Service Delivery and other project teams to define and create a new published desktop for remote users
·Work with technical resources from Service Delivery and other project teams to define and create the Windows 7 rollout infrastructure
·Provide technical leadership during the Windows 7/Office 2010 rollout
·Assist in the identification and documentation of any new processes and procedures required to transition service support from the project team to Service Delivery teams
