Technical Architect - Uxbridge
My client, a high profile oil & gas company, is currently looking for a Technical Architect to join their team in Uxbridge.
Key Accountabilities of the role:
* Accountable as the project lead architecture for the delivery of the technical architecture and design for systems like Informatica, IBM Sterling Managed File Transfer
* Follow architecture common process (based on TOGAF) as the main delivery tool
* Initiate technical architecture reviews and provides recommendations to his stakeholders. Specifically, ensure close alignment with the relevant vendors (HP and IBM) regarding the Architecture.
* Assess & identify risks associated with differing technical options at both local & strategic levels and provide mitigation strategies.
* Takes a lead role in the defining and communicating Infrastructure related architecture/design topics.
* Takes a lead role in ensuring reusability of Architectural Building Blocks and Solution Building Blocks.
* Devise & develop collateral such as presentations, toolkits, technical briefs, status reports etc for use of the stakeholder community.
* Actively engage with the relevant stakeholder community as required by the project.
Essential Criteria:
* This role requires a broad IT Infrastructure view that is combined with a pragmatic and delivery focussed mind-set, deep technical expertise and flexibility. A desire to lead by example and address complex challenges in a changing environment is critical for the role. A good understanding of Informatica.
* Good knowledge of Linux, and Windows Operating Systems and Oracle Data Base
* Good knowledge on Experience in Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Storage arrays, both Fibre-Channel-based and IP-based.
* In-depth knowledge of Backup & Recovery, High Availability and Disaster Recovery concepts, processes, testing, products, and solutions.
* Excellent and proven influencing capabilities. Excellent Team player, needs to be capable to energize team, and lead team to deliver within time and budget, excellent communication and management skills, specifically capabilities to work in a multi-cultural global environment
* Strong communication skills (verbal and written) to ensure stakeholders are kept on board
* At least 5 years role based experience with a similar role. Experience in capacity estimating and modelling.
* Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics or similar
* TOGAF 9 Certification
