DBA Developer
A dynamic Ecommerce business in Chester are looking to recruit a DBA Developer.
Main responsibilities
· Delivery Stream - Developing and maintaining a complex database model in SQL Server for the handing of key business decisions.
· Analysis & Design - Responsible for the design of all the databases, and data integration processes within a project delivery. Ensuring that those designs meet architectural approval, conform to best practice as well as fulfilling the stated business need.
· Estimating - Provide accurate estimates for stories within the work stream.
· Programming - Responsible for all aspects of SQL Server database development confirming to standards, including unit testing and documentation.
· Release and Change - Responsible for the roll-out of database changes in accordance with ITIL release & change management procedures.
· Integration - Responsible for the safe and secure integration of new data solutions to the existing data systems. Required to engage early with the Data Infrastructure Team DBAs to ensure a smooth handover to Service.
· Peer Reviewing - As part of the Data Development Team the Developer DBA will peer review the designs and code of fellow team members as well as seek peer approval for their own work.
· Tuning and Troubleshooting - Responsible for the performance of the data objects produced within the project and delivery of a secure, high performance solution into Service.
SkillsEssential
Demonstrable experience in SQL Server OLTP database design and best practice.
Experience of SQL Server 2000/2005/2008
Experience of designing, loading and tuning high transaction VLDBs.
Very strong T-SQL Scripting skills.
Working knowledge of data partitioning.
Knowledge of data modelling.Strong working knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services package development and best practice.
Good understanding of SQL Server disaster recovery and high availability techniques.
Experience of SQL Server troubleshooting & performance tuning techniques.
DesirableKnowledge of SQL Server replication
Knowledge of SQL Server database compression
Exposure to SQL Server 2012
Experience of SQL Server load testing
Experience of Datawarehouse design and build.
