* Support the ongoing baseline backup and storage infrastructure.

Context of Job:
* Member of the Storage Team who works within the Data Centre Operations (DCO) team IT Infrastructure (ITI).
* The Storage Team delivers baseline support, infrastructure delivery and lifecycle management for storage and backup technologies within Rabobank International EU.
* The Storage team delivers architectural innovation, standards and direction for global storage and backup teams within the context of the Data Centre CoC.
* The job holder will be capable of rapidly and accurately resolving issues which might impact large parts of the business, to minimise down time and financial impact. They will use expertise to ensure that the storage resources are used to their best advantage within the bank, working with other departments to evaluate, improve and streamline the service delivered.
* ITI's goal is to keep systems running and money moving regardless of normal or crisis situations. ITI adds real value through the generation and implementation of ideas and concepts that contribute to the bottom line performance for the branches and the organisation as a whole.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

* Innovate to develop the storage and backup offerings globally
Within these responsibilities the following specific tasks are key:
* Perform daily, weekly and periodic checks and procedures as required to ensure operational reliability.
* Deliver a stable storage environment which has 100% uptime and acceptable performance characteristics for the customer.
* Perform product lifecycle management.
* Test, maintain and improve monitoring and checking.
* Add and remove storage from the systems according to defined process and policy.
* Add and remove backups to new and existing servers according to defined process and policy.
* Perform Operational Acceptance Tests for servers for both storage and backups.
* Design storage solutions, both on an individual server or system level and as a platform offering.
* Investigate performance characteristics of storage solutions where appropriate and assist customers as required.
* Testing and recommendation of storage and backup tooling.
* Capacity planning of storage and backup environments ensuring appropriate investment is made at the appropriate time.
* Review usage of storage resources and reclaim where appropriate
* Ensure that standards are maintained in line with departmental policies and automated checks where practical
* Accountable for delivery of individually-assigned projects

* The role requires an in-depth knowledge of both SAN and also Backup & Recovery architectures and technology. In particular, an in depth knowledge of HDS SAN’s, Cisco switches and Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) and Symantec NetBackup.
* Design and architect global SAN solutions taking into account regional constraints.
* Design and architect global Backup and Recovery solutions taking into account regional constraints.
* Troubleshoot server and storage, stability and performance problems for SAN and Backups.
* Definition and documentation of best practice process and design.
* Install and configure SAN and Backup & Recovery hardware and software.
* Identify requirements and develop/deploy solutions for SAN and Backup environments.
