Network Architect / Network Engineer / Engineering / Strategy / CCIE
Primary responsibilities include developing and engineering the global network management platform and software standards, and managing projects within the network management and data network areas. This includes but is not limited to; testing and evaluating vendor platforms and software, developing configuration designs and deployment guidelines and methodologies to assist in the creation of stable, scalable solutions that drive business performance and efficiency, documentation of designs, operations service handover interfacing and third line support technical expertise
Main tasks:
*Assisting in the definition of network management evolution and strategy
*Assisting in defining architecture and standards
*Self managing and detailed planning of high profile projects and complex designs
*Providing third line support and technical expertise
*Product evaluation, testing and selection
*Providing detailed documentation (design implementation plans/diagrams)
*Project management (design, develop and implement Network Projects)
Requirements:
*Experience of core network management / monitoring technologies
*Strong systems administration skills of industry leading network management / monitoring systems (EMC SMARTS, HP NA, HP NNM, SevOne)
*proficient skills in scripting (Perl, PHP, SQL)
* Unix / Linux / Microsoft systems administration
*Requires proficient skills in associated protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, SNMP, SYSLOG, ICMP, NETFLOW, Radius/TACACS) and IP management systems and processes
*Requires experience of core networking technologies including routing, switching, multicast, load-balancing and network security
*An understanding of hardware architecture and design
*Experience of solution testing and test methodologies
*Experience of providing detailed design and deployment documentation
Experience liaising with clients, vendors and internal departments
