Creative Technologist (UI/UX/Front-End Developer)

"Creative Technologist" - UX/UI Front-End Developer - Our client, one of the coolest Marketing Agencies in London is looking to hire an experience "Creative Technologist” to join their team. This is a fantastic hybrid role of UX/UI design and Front-End Development.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in front-end web technologies, with good knowledge of new and emerging trends. They should be passionate about the work they do and that should come across in their attitude, as they will be expected to contribute in shaping creative projects from idea and concept through to development.

Although technical skills are of primary importance, the role also requires a good knowledge of design. Candidate should therefore have a broad range of design and technical knowledge and proven experience of utilizing their skills and expertise in helping to define and deliver digital solutions. Candidates should be conversant in design and technical terminology, enthusiastic about all things digital and be able to draw on expertise of specialists in the team around them when necessary.

Design/UX:
*Candidate should have a good grasp of basic UX and design, having a decent level of understanding about common user experience pitfalls and best practice
*Will be able to adapt their approach based on client requirements selecting which are necessary from scamps, wireframes, mac visuals, prototypes etc.
*Will have an "Eye for design” and not just blindly develop from PSDs.
*Can hold their own conversing with specialist designers, helping to influence and shape the work that they do with constructive input

Interface development/technical competence:
*Candidate should be able to write basic HTML and CSS with their eyes closed
*Good knowledge across HTML5 and CSS3, with excellent knowledge in some specific areas they are more passionate about.
*Familiar with Responsive Web Design and Development techniques with proven experience in this area
*Good JavaScript skills - candidate will know jQuery but more importantly when to use it when considered with using vanilla JavaScript
*Knowledge and experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Backbone, Require and any testing frameworks is considered a bonus, but not a pre-requisite for the role.
*Familiar with interface development techniques for mobile websites and mobile web apps
*Experience with social media platform integration - Facebook Open Graph and applications, YouTube API, Twitter API
*Experience of the complete software development lifecycle
*Knowledge of web standards and web development best practices
*Will have access to back-end software developers as necessary
*Will be familiar with rapid customisations of blogging platforms using off the shelf themes and plugins.
*Enthusiastic about multi-channel communication and experimental technologies
*Able to provide accurate estimates of own time to complete tasks
*Should be able to apply their knowledge to real projects, visualising how they could be used in potential projects.
*Should have good understanding of SEO best practice for both web design and development
*Can submit sites to directories
