Business Change Project Manager - West Yorkshire
A opportunity with a fantastic organisation has arisen. They are looking for a strong Business Change Project Manager to take on the huge portfolio of projects that are planned for 2013.
You will be responsible for liaising across the different workstreams. With the new programme that is in place, you will be required to work across all areas of the business from HR to Finance.
Business Change Project Manager you will be assigned to the management of a variety of medium to large projects across the business. These will incorporate projects within and outside of the IT function where adhering to project deadlines is critical. You will operate with more focus on the digital channel with their new systems and programme.
The main responsibilities of this role are to liaise with project stakeholders, manage resources within the project and manage the delivery of the project from initial concept through to delivery.
The successful candidate should be highly organised and motivated with good communication and team skills, and to be experienced in having managed projects in a structured environment.
It is important to recognise that it is Business Change, not IT focussed.
Key Responsibilities:
·Work with line managers to clarify business requirements and agree specifications for systems solutions.
·Manage, monitor and control internal resources to deliver project objectives.
·Ensure the solution is reviewed, and that deployment is coordinated, with the IT Service Delivery team to ensure minimal impact on business.
·Support the initial implementation of new systems to follow up and resolve outstanding faults.
·Manage feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed systems changes or new systems.
·Understands, states and controls the scope of projects adopting rigorous change control.
·Identifies all risks associated with the project and determines mitigating action plans to reduce the likelihood of the risk occurring and contingencies in case the risk does happen.
·Constructs realistic project budget recognising the value of each deliverable to the receiving business units.
·Regularly assesses the RAG status of the project against a set of criteria determined by the PMO but also contributed to by the job holder.
·Takes corrective action to improve the RAG status of the project where necessary.
Technical Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
·Strong interpersonal skills and persuasive especially in conveying the status of the project to senior stakeholders.
·Ability to design items of communication to convey complex issues in an easily understood fashion to team members and project sponsors.
·Must be a self-motivated team player , with strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail along with an aptitude to take ownership of duties.
·Must be able to multitask.
·In-depth understanding of technology development lifecycle
·Excellent project management skills including previous use of RACI and RAID tools and techniques
·In depth knowledge of MS Project: in particular Critical Path analysis, resource management and reporting
·Well developed skills in other MS Office tools especially Excel and PowerPoint.
·Ideally educated to degree level.
·PRINCE2 or any other recognised project management certification is highly desirable.
·Team player.
·Adaptable and flexible desirable.
