My client is a leading global banking firm located in the heart of the city of london. They seek a talented and enthusiastic teleocms engineer to supplement their operations. In return they offer genuine career progression and training in a growing organisation.

Job Purpose:
Telecoms Engineer with knowledge of supporting a combination of Avaya/Nortel BCM 450’s, 1000M and 1000E systems.

Responsible for adds, moves and changes in our London Office as well as providing first line Telecoms support to Elavon employees who are based in our European offices.

Required Education & Training:

Third level qualification in an IT/Telecoms related discipline desirable.

Experience:
Knowledge of telecomm network components and services
An understanding of adjunct applications and services, including call recording (preferably Verint), wallboards (Symon) and historical report generation.
In-depth knowledge of VoIP and TDM protocols including H.323, SIP and ISDN.
An understanding of CTI technology, in particular Genesys, would be a distinct advantage.
Ability to document complex network designs and business processes using applications such as Visio and Word.
Experience with supporting Microsoft Windows server 2000/2003/2008 environments.
Experience using Helpdesk management software and resolving issues based on assigned priority.

Ability:
Ability to troubleshoot problems and provide technical support either hands on, over the telephone or via e-mail to internal customers.
Be an analytical thinker and problem solver who can provide follow through on problems.
Ability to respond to challenges in an innovative and persistent manner.
Ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
Ability to judge when to escalate an issue.
Excellent interpersonal, communication skills - Ability to communicate at all levels, internally and externally and is seen as a strong representative of the company
