SQL DBA Responsibilities:
* SQL Server core DBA skills - Maintenance, improvement, upgrading, troubleshooting
* Ensure availability and performance of the databases
* Developing, managing, monitoring and testing back-up and recovery plans
* Ensuring storage, archiving, back-up and recovery procedures are functioning correctly
* Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions
* Analysis and fault finding
SQL DBA Required Skill Set:
* Strong SQL 2000 DBA experience across multiple systems
* Proven experience in management of data throughout various databases and applications
* SQL Server database security management experience
* DTS
* Disaster Recovery
* SSAS would be useful
* Confident personality who can own the database systems and respond to requests in a fast paced retail environment,
* Strong skills and housekeeping, maintenance, planning including capacity planning.
* Upgrading Database architectures.
* Microsoft certifications desirable.
