Video Content Editor - Feltham
My client, a high profile oil & gas company, is looking for a content editor for a recently launched online best practice and learning video sharing platform. The role involves three areas of responsibility: content management, partner support, and various communication tasks.
1. The content management aspects include processing new content - reviewing potential video clips, uploading and describing them on The Hub. Arranging for clip approval from owners and contributors and taking ownership of the platforms content categories, navigation, and keywords.
2. We are currently establishing a number of international platform partners who can create and post content. These partners typically neither have previous experience in video production nor content management systems, so the content editor will provide technical support to this group. The content editor will also help create, launch, and manage a new online partner support community.
3. The communication tasks include featuring articles and content on the platform, assisting with online evaluation and promotion activities, moderating user discussions and flagged content, and approving, publishing and featuring content from our partners.
Training will be provided, but the candidate must be a fast learner and have prior experience in all areas. Furthermore, to be successful in the role the candidate must have the right professional fit. This means demonstrable experience of working in a large multinational organisation and the ability to successfully deal with people on all levels, company politics, and diversity issues.
Required skills
· Good experience with copy writing / editing (journalism/authoring/blogging)
· Some experience with Social Media (launching or maintaining online groups)
· Some experience editing video (preferably with Premiere Pro or Final Cut)
· Some experience working with CMS or basic website maintenance
· Excellent English skills (spoken / written / grammar)
Additional skills
· Team worker - ability to focus on team goals and share team task.
· Responsible - self starter with ability to work well unsupervised.
· Knowledge or experience of one or more of the following areas: Safety process and procedures in industry, management and leadership principles, ethics and compliance, cross-cultural communication and management, diversity and inclusion.
