Software Delivery Manager - £50K - £60K per annum
Software Delivery Manager is required by my client, a leading education organisation, to manage the effectiveness and strategy of the business. This role will primarily be based from home but work may be required anywhere in the UK for periods of up to a week in duration.
Key accountabilities include:
* Manage business requirements for provision of internal applications management services, covering entire SDLC
* Manage requirements for fulfilment of client related application development
* Implement the business IT strategy as appropriate
* Plan, monitor and report on strategy for management of strategic and tactical application development activities
* Project manage and execute application updates in-line with organisations approach:
* Project team roles and responsibilities
* Risk and Issue identification and management
* System and Operational testing
* Deployment planning, management and transition to live operation
* Training: Business and IT
* Operational support plans
* Develop and maintain Project Plans and budgets as necessary for managing associated deliveries and activities
* Develop and maintain a Communications Plan and keep the business and IT communities appraised of plans and related implications
* Define, plan and manage delivery milestones
* Plan, lead and co-ordinate improvement initiatives involving business applications.
* Take responsibility for: task setting; forecasting and estimating; milestone identification; reporting ad monitoring; risk management; issue management; quality assurance; change management and financial reporting.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing teams of all Lines of Business
* Liaising with the Infrastructure and Application team, in addition to the outer IT team
* Liaising with application providers and maintenance suppliers in addition to infrastructure support providers
Key Performance Measure include:
* Delivery of internal applications service to the business
* Deliver and implementation of a Vendor Management framework
* Deliver of software updates from identified application vendors in line with agreed delivery and release requirements
Desired criteria:
* 2.1 Degree from a top university or equivalent experience
* Prince2 qualification or ITIL qualification
* Proven experience of delivering projects in the relevant industry
