SQL Server Developer - 2005/2008/R2, T-SQL, DDL, DML, eCommerce, online, retail
A well established business is currently looking for a SQL Server Developer for a 3month contract to join their world class team based in Manchester.
To be considered for this role it is essential that you have experience of the following:
- Experience working in high co-currency environments with users in excess of 50+ per second on databases of around 1xTB+ in size.
- Solid experience of SQL Server 2008 and ideally 2005 with strong experience of DDL (data definition language) including much of the following: creating tables, views, indexes, constraints, datatypes, partitioning, compression, stored procedures, functions, triggers, common table expressions etc.
- Further experience of DML including (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, OUTPUT, MERGE, Aggregation, Set based arithmetic (UNION, INTERSECT, EXCEPT, In-built scalar functions).
- Strong experience of designing stored procedures for high concurrency using lock granularity & implicit and explicit transaction management
- experience of optimising and tuning queries via analysis of execution plans and evaluation of row-based operations vs set-based operations
- Must be able to optimise indexing strategies and use such strategies to build scalable solutions (Indexing, compression, partitioning)
- Must be able to design tables for data integrity (Database Normalisation at least to 3rd Normal Form) using the most recent SQL Server data types.
Further to the above it would be seen as highly desirable for you to be Microsoft certified and to have experience working for an online/ecommerce/retail business.
Rate is negotiable however we are looking in the region of £350-£400 p/d.
