The Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for Managing a team of IT network specialists to deliver services including the operation and administration of internal networks, servers, email and network security systems. It is imperative to ensure that such services are provided uninterrupted and in accordance with a formerly defined Service Level agreed with the business, they will help to ensure that all services provided by the network team, are presented to the business in a robust and stable fashion. The services typically involve both proactive and reactive support including the design, implementation and running of LAN and WAN networks and other network topologies that meet business need both in terms of performance and functional capability to support the business in achieving the agreed corporate objectives.

A critical aspect of the IT Infrastructure Manager's role is ensuring the on-going security of the networks such that the organisation complies at all times with agreed standards such as ISO 27001 and protects the networks from misuse by either internal members of staff or individuals external to the company's organisation (e.g. hackers).

Responsibilities:
* Overseeing the administration and maintenance of servers (predominantly Microsoft, some Linux) hosted mainly within the company's own data centre in Sheffield, some hosted externally.
* Ensure adherence to defined standards
* Define and agree the Networks Service Level including KPIs
* Ensure all SLAs and KPIs are monitored and reported on a regular basis
* Manage a team of staff ensuring they have the appropriate skills training/coaching to enable them to carry out their roles effectively
* Apply effective performance management across the entire team
* Schedule work to maximise the utilisation of the team
* Overseeing configuration of all new server systems required either internally for the company's activities or for external clients.
* Ensure all documentation is complete, and up to date.
* Forecast demand based on business planning parameters such as forecast bid wins etc.
* Assist in the development of and management of the annual budget
* Ensure interoperability amongst organisational and external entities
* Maintain effective change management policies and procedures

Skills and Experience:
* Recent hands-on working knowledge in SAN, VMWare, Backup, Exchange & Active Directory.
* Experience in managing a networks/infrastructure team of at least 5 staff
* Financial awareness/exposure (budgets/forecasting/invoice matching etc.)
* Exposure to writing business cases and presenting
* Writing, measuring performance against and maintaining SLAs
* Strong understanding of security in a corporate network.
* ISO27001/experience with working with IL2/3 data

In return the client is offering a base salary of £30,000 - £40,000 (dep on experience) + benefits + fantastic working environment
