Contract Test Support Manager (non-functional, Oracle, .Net, Unix) - 3 Months Initially - Bradford (West Yorkshire)
The duties of a Test Support Manager will include but not limited to:
· Maintaining an awareness of the strategic IT objectives of the organisation, and evaluating upcoming projects in terms of their impact on the existing test environments infrastructure
· Defining and maintaining a Test Environments Schedule that demonstrates how the requirements of projects will be met
· Assisting coordination and maintenance of code / configuration releases into Test Environments to meet project deadlines
· Building relationships with technical team managers and agree support OLAs
· Liaising with all Project team members and Key Stakeholders
· Preparing high-level plans to ensure medium to long-term test environment provisioning objectives are fulfilled
· Coordinating and leading the projects assigned, acting as an escalation point for the resolution of any issues
· Evaluating environment availability and defect metrics, and their impact on OLAs
· Monitoring the delivery of test environments according to high-level plans
· Evaluating on-going process improvement activities
Essential skills:
· Non-functional testing / system testing / test management
· Hands-on technical support in an (any of) Oracle, .Net, Unix, Web environment Excellent communication, interpersonal, motivational, influencing and negotiation skills
· Environment support management experience with strong grasp of different testing methodology / approaches
· Ability to:
Ø build strong working relationships with peers, senior management, project teams and key Stakeholders
Ø plan and manage test environment provisioning activities
Ø monitor and report on environment availability and causal analysis of incidents identified
Ø identify and recommend process improvements and lead change
Ø coordinate all test environment activities directly with projects and provide regular reports
Ø be accountable for all work allocated independently with minimal supervision
Ø be adaptable
