My client, a high profile media company, is looking for a Business Manager to join their team in London.

Purpose of the role:

The Business Manager will be responsible for the provision of high quality business and programme management support to the Programme Director to ensure that the programme achieves its desired outcome in terms of forecast or realised benefits and delivers against its objectives in accordance with programme management best practice.

The Programme:

The Programme is a strategic programme within the Technology, Distribution and Archives division and its purpose is to redefine the company's technology landscape and the supplier engagement model that supports it. The programme will review and re-procure the services currently provided under the existing contract with Atos and will engage with all divisions to ensure that the outcome will deliver the optimum service and value for money.

Key Responsibilities:
· To undertake business case analysis and development and to assist with the definition, tracking and management of programme benefits.
· To undertake programme management tasks, including the provision of programme management support to programme governance bodies, including the Programme Board and Steering Group.
· To ensure that documentation produced by the programme is consistent and is produced in line with the configuration management guidelines produced by the programme.
· To prepare and to assist with the preparation of programme governance documentation and approvals.
· To undertake stakeholder engagement activity and to represent the programme to divisions and stakeholders as required.
· To become an integral member of the programme team, to provide support to programme work streams and to take on additional responsibilities when required.
· To identify and communicate any risks, issues dependencies or changes which could impact the outcome or deliverables of the Working Group or wider programme in line with the guidelines established by the programme.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

Essential:
· Experience of producing business cases, including benefits definition and benefits realisation planning.
· Understanding and experience of business analysis skills, techniques and practices, with strong attention to detail.
· Ability to analyse a range of complex information sources and to clearly articulate and document recommendations.
· Flexible approach to a wide variety of work and ad hoc projects with a focus on delivery to deadlines and high standards.
· Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to develop, maintain and enhance relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
· Strong presentation skills to a wide variety of audiences at all levels.
· Strong IT skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and online collaboration tools.
· An understanding of financial processes used in large organisations, including budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
· Experience of working as part of a project or programme team, with a governance framework.
· An appreciation of the macro-economic and political environments affecting the organisation.

Desirable
· Experience of working on large, complex procurement or outsourcing programmes.
· An appreciation of changing technology and working practices across the broadcasting industry.
· Familiarity with PRINCE2 or MSP or similar.
· Strong financial analysis skills would be an advantage.

· Influencing and persuading - ability to present sound and well-reasoned arguments to convince others. Can draw from a range of strategies to persuade people in a way that results in agreement or behaviour change.
