Reporting to the PMO Manager within this successful Group IT Function, you'll deliver various projects from applications and systems based, to infrastructure and facilities projects.
You'll deliver in a fast-paced, complex environment, using common methodologies and processes that facilitate delivery and add real value to the business through a customer and delivery focused approach, building strong relationships with business stakeholders.
The Opportunity
· Deliver IT projects across multiple business units, in line with Group IT and business strategies, to required scope and quality, on time and within budget.
· Lead and motivate project teams in a matrix model ensuring they are committed to achieving success through each other.
· Work with colleagues within IT to develop initiatives through formal pipeline stages and ensure projects are delivered to agreed priorities.
· Projects will span IT systems, applications, infrastructure, telephony and facilities and must be incorporated into the programme dossier in the approved portfolio.
· Deliver projects simultaneously while managing risk/issues and use structured approaches that facilitate, rather than hinder, progress.
· Oversee documentation within your programme of work to agreed standards. · Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across sites, varied business units and 3rd parties, ensuring high levels of service and ensuring realistic expectations are set.
· Meet business objectives using your commercial understanding of how projects affect and benefit the business; commercial awareness and natural understanding of cost/benefit analysis is crucial.
Requirements:
· Proven IT project management experience with an emphasis on systems delivery, but a breadth of knowledge across, applications and infrastructure also is desirable.
· Evidence of personally taking responsibility for delivery working with a wider team to deliver to objectives set. · Strong communicator, able to build effective relationships with various business stakeholders, understand needs and deliver, reporting milestones regularly.
· Experience of delivering IT or projects valued at £100,000+. · Experience of managing, motivating and a matrix team to deliver to end goals.. · Experience of working in a fast paced, customer focused environment (retail, hospitality, leisure desirable, not essential).
· Evidence of business case evaluation and benefits realisation.
· Familiarity of project methodologies like Prince 2 or MSP (ideally formally qualified but not essential).
· Excellent stakeholder relationship management skills and customer focused.
