Infrastructure Designer

A respected client of mine is looking for an Infrastructure Designer to join their team on a permanent basis. You will be required to assist the Architects in infrastructure design and provide 3rd Line Support of applications and infrastructure solutions that support the company wide IT systems. You will also be required to lead project teams in delivery of the solutions and make sure they adhere to the necessary standards set out by the business. A heavy emphasis of the IT strategy is on Open Source technologies so a background in this would be beneficial.

Technologies required:
·Operating Systems including Linux
·Patching of Linux and Windows.
·VMWare or other virtualisation technologies
·In depth knowledge of Open Source technologies, including Linux, MySQL, Apache and Tomcat
·Storage platforms including Block, SAN, File
·Network LAN / WAN technologies and knowledge of switches (i.e. Cisco)

Additional Skills:
·Cloud platform experience including SaaS and IaaS
·Server platforms including both x86 and itanium blades
·Apache Openstack
·Hybris
·Oracle
·Java programming
·Google Apps
·Knowledge of the Agile project management methodology
