Job description:
To design and implement an intranet-based tool, for use for order entry and management personnel, that will take data from a SQLServer-based contract entry tool and automatically create corresponding entries in an Oracle-based reporting tool.
Responsibilities:
Manages and implements internal tools and applications.
Determines and documents the requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations for the proposed solution, prior to implanting the agreed solution.
Researches, analyses and resolves problems and issues with minimal supervision and escalates issues as appropriate.
Regularly communicates and shares knowledge with the rest of the team and department.
Completes work within department, company, and industry standards, methodologies, and policies.
Database engineering:
Performs the analysis and design of database solutions and requirements definition.
Performs logical and physical data modelling.
Translates technical and business requirements into physical installations.
Resolves root cause of database problems.
Develops, modifies, tests and implements database application modules from multiple systems using disciplined software development processes.
Systems/network engineering:
Performs the analysis and design of solutions and requirements definition.
Translates technical and business requirements into physical installations.
Determines practical solutions and obtains agreement to proposed solutions.
Documents information required for deployment in Operations.
Resolves root cause of problems.
Technical Skills:
Specialist technical knowledge:
· C#
· ASP.Net
· SQL
· One or both of SQLServer and Oracle
Strong analytical and problem solving skills required
Knowledge of technology platforms, products, and services
Conversant with security concepts and techniques
