My client based in Birmingham is currently recruiting for a SQL DBA to join their support function to aid with both project and BAU support.
The role will be charged with providing operational support of an array of SQL Servers both as part of a team and on solo project work (Both MS SQL Server and a small amount of ORACLE).
Ideal candidates will exhibit a strong background in SQL Server Database Administration including:
· SQL Server 2000 - 2008
· Knowledge of distributed architecture and design
· SQL Server 2005 optimization, fine-tuning and scalability techniques
Furthermore relevant experience necessary in order to complete this role will include:
· Experience of supporting mission critical applications within a 3rd line function
· Experience of upgrading existing systems/ data backup/ recovery/ rollback planning/ implementation
· Visual Basic scripting language (VBScript) to write some of the Extraction, Transform and Load tasks.
· Hands on Data Migration experience (SQL Server 2000 - 2005 - 2008).
To fulfil this role you must be prepared to undergo MOD SC Clearance and MET Police Clearance processes.
