Infrastructure Engineer, CCNA/CCNP, VMware, ITIL service management A leading Events organisation is looking for a Solid Infrastructure Engineer to help support , implement and be a key member of the delivery team but also being able to t on projects from start to finish putting across their own ideas and experience within Networking.Experience required:Ensure the core services which reside on the network infrastructure e.g. wifi, WAN, internet, SAN and related security systems, are monitored in a proactive manner to ensure they operate effectively and meet capacity and availability- proven experience The individual needs to be resourceful in meeting what is often conflicting demands. Resolutions to issues may require a strong minded person in order to restore service urgently, which may not always follow the textbook approach. Identification of opportunities that new technologies offer and how they might benefit the operation of the business are essential as well as demonstrating creativity to often imposed project deadlines.Skills:Educated to degree level or professional / technical equivalentCisco certified network professional (CCNA, CCNP preferred or experience to this level) Experience of VMware - formal qualification desired - version 5.1 - proven experience Strong and recent experience in a network related role involving BAU, Implementation and Project work.Service focus with excellent inter-personal relationship, communication and expectation management skills Diligent in the documentation of policies, standards and operational procedures, close attention to detail, aligned with an ability to think outside the box and be creative.Presentation skills, ability to back up technical proposals with rock solid solutions Detailed knowledge of CISCO 6500 core switch and 3750 access switch technologies. IP Telephony (Alcatel Kit preferred, VLANS, spanning tree, configuration of routers and switches.
