SQL Server DBA, Expert in T-SQL and SSIS
Harvey Nash are working with their client, a leading player in the retail sector based in Nottingham, to source an SQL Server DBA to join their software development team.They are looking for an individual with great communication skills, a high level of technical ability and a real passion towards their work and career. In return the candidate will become part of a dynamic team working in a fantastic atmosphere, having the opportunity to work on a number of exciting projects and develop alongside some highly technical colleagues.
Requirements:
· At least 2 years' experience as a SQL DBA and comfortable supporting complex SSIS packages, Database Mirroring and Log Shipping.
· Comfortable supporting heavy usage of SQL Transactional Replication throughout the business delivering multiple publications on c.150 servers to single subscriber databases.
· Experience performance tuning replication to cope with high volumes of concurrent writes is essential.
· Confident in taking complete ownership of the whole SQL estate and management of all deployed SQL code ensuring consistency and stability.
· A high level of T-SQL skills for administration, maintenance and code optimisation. Candidates who rely purely on the SSMS UI will unfortunately not be suitable.
· Ability to advise infrastructure teams on optimal physical and logical server design for new projects and add value through tuning and enhancing existing systems.

· Development capability using C# and the SQL CLR.
Flexibility in experience will be given providing all other requirements can be met. Junior DBAs and T-SQL developers looking for a change in career will be considered.
