Product Manager - West London
My client, a high profile media company, is looking for a Product Manager to join their team in West London.
We are looking for a Product Manager with working knowledge of content management systems, HTML, CSS, search engine optimisation, file transfer protocol preferably knowledge and experience of implementing SharePoint-based technologies and/or of presenting data from SAP in a user-friendly way - please see the JD for details.
This role is replacing someone who is moving to another project / area of the organisation. The ideal candidate will be able to start within a few days of offer and would take preference if they have the relevant skills but would accomodate 1-2 weeks notice if they had to but any longer would not be considered.
Suitable candidates will have strong communication and stakeholder management skills and be able to translate business processes and translate them into clear and concise corporate guidelines. They will have had exposure in dealing with externally facing suppliers and will be working with the SAP team as well as the intranet content teams.
Key skills, experience and qualities of the individual
General
· Product management experience gained within a major corporate environment, ideally associated with procurement and/or supplier management.
· An aptitude for learning new systems including new business processes and online tools
· Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build constructive relationships
· Strong planning and organisational skills and works well under pressure, remaining calm and able to react quickly to circumstances
· Experience managing small to medium sized projects
· Strong team player and also able to work independently
· Proactively identifies problems and areas for improvement and demonstrates drive and determination to find and implement solutions
Web and customer experience
· Champions the importance of striving for best in class user and customer experience
· Detailed understanding of user-centred design, web standards (W3C) and web accessibility (WAI)
· Understanding Guidelines for the intranet and bbc.co.uk or experience of working within corporate guidelines for intranet/internet sites
· Creative, with good feel for design
· Excellent working knowledge of content management systems, HTML, CSS, search engine optimisation, file transfer protocol preferably knowledge and experience of implementing SharePoint-based technologies and/or of presenting data from SAP in a user-friendly way
· Knowledge of cross-browser and cross-platform issues. Experience of implementing mobile solutions is desirable.
Communications and stakeholder engagement
· Experience communicating concepts and ideas to stakeholders at all levels within the organisation, including oral and written presentations, proposals, specifications and reports
· Can present findings of research to senior stakeholders
· Can effectively present options and recommendations to stakeholders
