SAP Operations Infrastructure Lead - Uxbridge
My cleading a leading Oil & Gss company based in Uxbridge are looking for a SAP Operations Infrastructure Lead to join their team.
The candidate is Required to manage the infrastructure requirements of the SAP Operations application portfolio (both SAP and non-SAP systems) and coordinate the delivery of this service as part of a wider end-to-end team. This role will work closely with both internal and supplier teams to ensure that delivery of reactive and proactive activities are prioritised and delivered effectively to maximise the reliability and availability of these critical systems.
Key Accountabilities:
· Responsible for delivering a process and approach for performing proactive, regular end-to-end system health-checks to identify issues and avert major incidents
· Responsible for implementing a robust and enduring process for planning and delivering infrastructure maintenance necessary to keep production stacks current, supportable and aligned to our declared maintenance strategy
· Responsible for ensuring that suppliers follow the agreed maintenance strategy for SAP infrastructure and deliver the expected levels of availability and supportability
· Responsible for the reliable provision of infrastructure services (e.g. Operating System, Hardware or Storage) by service providers, to ensure that agreed service levels are achieved for the SAP estate.
· Responsible for delivering a series of approved or certified infrastructure builds (which will form part of wider end-to-end build), relating to complex SAP hosting environments and ensuring that these are maintained accurately
· Responsible for ensuring that reactive infrastructure services are delivered to the Service Operations (Incident and Problem Management) team - restoring service and identifying root cause in line with documented SLAs
· Responsible for the delivery of proactive infrastructure detection and diagnostic services, to ensure that issues are anticipated, identified and fixed before they impact system availability or cause high priority incidents
· Responsible for ensuring that High Availability and Clustering solutions deliver and maintain the resilience expected by our customers
· Responsible for ensuring that reliability of shared data storage solutions is maintained and is fit for purpose for major SAP systems
· Responsible for contributing to a data volume management and archiving strategy, minimising data storage requirements and cost
· Responsible for ensuring that relevant aspects of SAP infrastructure are fit to deliver measurable non-functional requirements, specifically around system performance
· Responsible for ensuring that the infrastructure aspects of all new projects, enhancements and changes meet agreed quality criteria and do not disrupt operations
· Responsible for making sure that adequate infrastructure monitoring and alerting is implemented effectively for specific areas
· Responsible for identifying, raising and mitigating risks relating to the SAP infrastructure
· Responsible for developing operating procedures and practices which help standardise the SAP operating environment.
· Performs management escalation and communication to senior stakeholders in B&SS and IT&S as necessary.
·Contribute to and provide input for regular supplier performance reviews
Essential Criteria:
* Must have extensive, detailed SAP-related experience in at least two of the following key areas:
· UNIX or Windows Server operating systems
· Wintel or UNIX hardware
· High Availability hosting and clustered environments
· Shared Data Storage (SAN)
· Data Archiving and Data Volume Management
· Infrastructure Maintenance Planning and Execution
* Can demonstrate SAP hosting experience and in-depth knowledge of the challenges and opportunities presented in delivering services in a global multi-instance SAP environment
* Must be able to work effectively with a high number of stakeholders across IT&S.
* Educated to Degree level or equivalent
*ITIL foundation qualification
Desirable Criteria:
· SAP Certified
·Completed ITIL v3 Intermediate level or higher
