Head of Marketing

Role Purpose:To lead the marketing element of our Clients (Company) communications and PR strategy to aid delivery of the company business strategy. To lead the development of a customer focused shared service for the company that delivers best practice in digital, visual and other marketing channels for stakeholder engagement.

Accountabilities: As a member of the Communications & PR Leadership Team, contribute to the development and implementation of the Company Communications and PR Strategy.

As a senior business leader will lead by example to:
- Ensure a personal relentless focus on Zero Harm and, in line with the Company
- Sustainability Roadmap, actively lead the business to ensure the delivery of positive - economic, social and environmental outcomes
- Build and inspire talented teams
- Live the Company Values & personally demonstrate the Leadership Behaviours
- Control costs and effectively manage budgets
- Ensure the team complies with all Regulations and Company Policies & Processes
· Work closely with the Communications and PR director to develop and implement a marketing strategy and plan as part of the overall Company Communications and PR strategy and plan, to enhance brand perception and awareness.
· Work alongside business stream leads and work winning teams to develop effective sector marketing plans including sector messaging and marketing materials for bids to aid work winning and business development.
· Develop and implement ways to measure the effectiveness of marketing strategy and plans to establish return on investment and influence strategy going forward
· Create marketing protocols to ensure relevant, effective and consistent interfaces across all areas of the business
· Direct, lead and manage the Company Communications and PR Shared Support Services to deliver best practice in graphics, digital media and large external marketing events, engaging external and internal resources from across the Communications & PR function as required.
· Lead the development and management of the budgets and service level agreements for shared services (graphics, digital media and events) and ensure that these services are deployed effectively across the Company to meet business requirements.
· Engage with senior leaders specifically work winning teams and market development director to keep abreast of key opportunities and risks that should influence marketing strategy
· Own the creation of all Company sales marketing collateral to ensure consistency of quality, look and feel and message - i.e vertical market brochures and capability brochures i.e BBES, BBGE and manage the interface with external agencies as required.
· Keep abreast of marketing trends and best practice to optimise the use of appropriate marketing channels - social media and innovative marketing tools eg apps.
· Identify advertising, sponsorship, high profile events and and awards opportunities and co-ordinate activity to raise the profile of the Company in vertical markets.
· Oversee the development and implementation of an innovative digital media strategy and plan to enhance stakeholders' digital experience of the Companu, ensuring key elements are covered for example; social media and information security.
· Oversee the development of a contemporary approach to graphic design
· Oversee the development of visual identity guidelines.
· Develop, in liaison with work winning teams, bid submission templates incorporating high level sector messaging, to ensure consistency of quality and content across whole of Company
· Commission photography requirements for all marketing collateral, to ensure consistent standard and quality
· Ensure that all Company marketing collateral adheres to Company brand strategy and guidelines

Personal Qualities & Experience
- The individual will require substantial experience in marketing at a senior level. An in-depth understanding of key sector activities across the UK will be required, together with the ability to engage with senior leaders and stakeholders.
The individual will need to understand the submission process and the requirements of work winning teams.
Knowledge of best practice and creative approaches to marketing across the construction (or a related) sector, is essential.
Proven experience in the identification of emergent issues/opportunities and their impact on marketing activities, is essential
Copy writing skills are essential
Qualification from the Chartered Institute of Marketing is desirable.
The individual will need to be able to work outside of office hours during evenings and weekends, when required for events.
A working knowledge of "InDesign" graphics package or similar, is essential
