PHP Developer
About the job
Based in central, London my client is looking for someone with 3+ years
experience developing with the LAMP stack who is keen to see their code in
operation on one of the UK’s largest shopping websites.
The ideal candidate has a real can-do attitude and a pragmatic nature as well as the
energy and talent to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment. You’ll work on
features and enhancements to the company website, troubleshoot support requests
from internal users, build out demonstration cases for new projects and write razor
sharp documentation against your code.
About you
You have three years’ experience developing web projects using the LAMP
Stack.
You’ve completed a number of demonstrable projects coded in PHP.
Have used a number of external APIs (e.g. Google), and have the know-how
to implement your own.
Take a healthy interest in code performance, and can explain the factors that
influence web page delivery to a browser.
Able to build a great MySQL database schema, with a good understanding
of how indexing can affect performance.
Equally happy taking on big and small challenges.
Have a practical understanding of scalable, high performance web
applications.
You’re able to write comprehensive documentation to accompany your
code.
You don’t get fazed jumping occasionally from project to project while
working to strict deadlines.
Love learning and experimenting with new technologies.
You’re comfortable working in a team or independently.
You’re able to effectively communicate ideas and solutions to non-technical
colleagues.
You really care about the projects you work on and want to work with a
company that recognises your talent.
Have experience of Linux server administration.
