My client, a prestigious retail organisation in the Midlands, is looking for a permanent SQL server DBA to work in the centre of Birmingham.Paying between £35,000 and £50,000 per annum (experince dependent), they are looking to hire immediately but will wait up to three months for the right candidate.· Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system.· Work to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high resilience and performance tuning.· To proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.· Responsible for providing trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.· Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving of SQL.· Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades.· Responsible for implementation and release of database changes according to agreed timescales and costs.· Responsible for reviewing future development and providing design input to the architecture team.· Develop a road map leading to a consolidated database platformSKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: · In depth SQL Server Database Administration experience.· Experience of managing multiple MS SQL 2008 R2 & 2005 RDBMS on large systems· Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on Database projects· Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service.· Experience of Transactional SQL, and DTS stored procedures.· Practical experience in managing the internal and external MS SQL database security· Knowledge and understanding of data design and optimisation· Experience of working in BI and MI environmentsIf you would like to find out more about the role, please send your CV in and we will give you a call to discuss the opportunity further.![]()
