QA Manager with 5+ year experience required for a reputable organisation based in Newcastle upon Tyne, to setup a test and release section to be responsible for:
· Managing QA engineers and regional beta test programs.
· Documenting and record the current test status for software (on a function by function basis) and make this visible to the organization;
· Documenting and record the current release stage of software (on a function by function basis) from alpha to final version;
· Informing customer-facing staff of the status so that expectations of customers as to the maturity of functionality is set correctly;
· Documenting and implement (and/or oversees implementation of) test plans for new functionality or to fill gaps in functional testing where they are identified.
The Person
· 5 years full product lifecycle delivery experience in a software environment
· Hands-on IP network testing experience
· Sufficient experience with Linux to identify appropriate debugging and analysis tools for functionality testing
· Experience in the testing of embedded products/web based applications and the issues of providing multi-browser support
· The technical authority and presence to challenge developers or others where assumptions are unwarranted or to insist on another test cycle if required
· Practical and systematic approach to testing
· High quality documentation
· Good communication skills
