Oracle DBA - 3 Months Contract (Initially) - Bradford (West Yorkshire)
We are looking for a talented, customer focused and technically skilled Oracle DBA to join our busy Database support team. Working within IT Service Delivery your contribution will support both project and business-as-usual activities.
Our evolving infrastructure environment currently includes but is not limited to: Oracle 10g/11g, GoldenGate, SOA/BPM, RAC, ASM, RMAN and Dataguard. You will be encouraged to help grow and shape our existing and future technological portfolio within a support environment.
Essential Experience in Technologies and Tools:
Oracle 10g & 11g rdbms on UNIX (HP Itanium preferred) Oracle Real Application Testing (RAT)
Essential Skills and Abilities:
Installation and support of 10 and 11g databases to agreed standards minimising downtime.
Preparation for and application of database patches through opatch.
Database administration (user / locks / object / space) on multiple enterprise scale systems.
Rapid and focused database performance analysis and optimisation.
UNIX Shell scripting.
SQL scripting.
Data loading.
Database security.
Application Development life cycle
Analysis and correction of faults raised by users and developers to agreed SLAs
Ability to problem solve within complex technical environments
Excellent customer service
Ability to work within a skilled and motivated technical support team
Strong written and verbal communication
Ability to follow instructions accurately and work rigidly to Society standards and practices
Desirable Experience in Technologies and Tools:
Oracle 11g upgrades Oracle RAC
10g or 11g OEM Grid Control
Datapump
Oracle Golden Gate
Oracle database vault
Data warehousing and Business Intelligence
OBIEE
Perforce or similar source control
SQL server 2005 / 2008 Oracle e-Business Suite R11 or R12HP OpenView ITOHP OpenView Service Desk
ITIL v3

Development of SQL or PL/SQL
Oracle eBusiness Suite administration / upgrades R11 or R12
