SAP License Consultant - SAP, License Management, LM, ITIL
My leading oil and gas client is currently looking for an SAP License Analyst to join their team. The position will be required to manage all licenses across the SAP Operations application software portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
· Responsible for ensuring that all License information pertaining to the software landscape is captured accurately and on boarded onto the central system.
· Acting as the single point of contact for all License related queries for software scope including input into the annual costing cycle to ensure there is clarity over license costs and allocation to customers.
· Responsible for defining license strategy, procedures and work instructions which support the on-going management of licenses within the overall Framework, including working with the SAP security team to ensure that processes exist to maintain SAP user alignment to SAP contractual license type criteria.
· Responsible for working with ES Programmes of Work to identify any new license requirements and ensuring these are appropriately captured within project business cases / costs.
· Play a role in Project Transition stage gates to review whether license criteria have been met.
· Responsible for monitoring compliance to license entitlement via reports generated from Aspera Smart Track and working with appropriate Projects or Operations leads to rectify issues.
· Responsible for the management of the ';Licence Pool’ - i.e. actively looks to return unused licences to the "available pool” to ensure that the client as whole does not over purchase licenses.
· Responsible for Allocation of Licences - maintain an overall list of licences "available and allocated” (i.e. earmarked for projects/user groups) that is open for view by authorised resources.
· Early Warning - provide clear communication and escalation when software licence usage breaches agreed warning levels e.g. if usage exceeds 90% of available licences.
· Responsible for ensuring all maintenance charges at the appropriate level for software licences are incorporated in each budget year, with any necessary adjustments being advised.
· Work the process to help reduce the clients costs for software licence maintenance as much as possible.
· Input into quarterly reviews and annual service costing cycles by providing user consumption data for SAP systems (through the SAP LAW tool).
· Responsible for raising appropriate purchase orders with Procurement for new license purchases and renewals.
Key Skills:
· Experience of SAP License Management in a complex multi-region multi-application environment.
· Must have a strong SAP background and understanding of SAP user management.
· Can show SAP applications experience and in-depth knowledge of the challenges and opportunities presented in delivering services in a global multi-instance SAP environment.
· Must be able to work effectively with a high number of stakeholders.
· Educated to Degree level or equivalent
· ITIL foundation qualification
