Job Description - Front End Methode DeveloperDescriptionThe client is looking to recruit a new front-end developer to work within the Content Programme. In this role, the successful candidate will work on development initiatives towards a roadmap of work for the media products.Reports within· Content ProgrammeWorks primarily with· Their operational team (a cross-functional Agile team including Product Owner, Scrum Master, Business Analyst, Architect, Developers, Testers, and Integration/Infrastructure engineers)· Other operational teams and 3rd partiesResponsibilities· Work as part of an Agile team implementing software development best practices· Provide estimates, and input into the team's planning sessions· Provide views on feasibility or proposed work (which may include some POC work)· Reviews and influences ongoing designs, standards and methods for print, online and tablet products· Provide live support cover, and carry out BAU work where required· Provide technical solutions that are informed by a design aesthetic. Ensure they are technically fit for purpose and suitable for a production workflow· Contributing to the organisation's standards, methods and procedures and ensuring that development initiatives are carried out in accordance with those.Skills & Experience· University degree, preferably educated in the field of Computer Science/Design· Thorough understanding of requirements for migrating editorial workflows and practices from layout systems such as InDesign and Méthode· A very strong background in editorial design· A very strong background in common web technologieso HTML 4 / 5 and CSS 2/3o Experience in producing wire-frames, mock-ups and designs· Experience in mobile/tablet development· Experience working in a media environment· Excellent communication skills required for interaction with people across various departments and rolesKnowledge· Méthode and Méthode Workbench (metadata, page plans, topic plans, work-folders, workflows, DWP and DWCs, development environments)· Adobe Creative Suite![]()
