Senior Network Engineer, CCIP, CCNP, MPLS, 3rd Party, VPN, A leading provider of health services requires a standalone Senior Network Engineer who is able to work alongside a systems integrator and deliver a full resilient network infrastructure.The Senior Network Engineer will support the design, implementation, operation, sustainability and optimisation of the network services. this role will be required to support the detailed design of the network, working with the structured cabling partner, the construction related services, building services and the systems integrator to ensure a working solution is provided. After commissioning, this role will be required to support the business-as-usual activities including monitoring, and on-going support of the network services.Supporting the Network Lead in interactions with the systems integrator to develop the detailed design and commission the network services in the new building Supporting engagement with building services and construction to understand network connectivity requirements and ensuring the design caters for thisCarrying out the design of network solutions as part of wider projects: carrying out detailed design and contributing to overall design and integrationEnsuring that all deliverables are completed in a timely manner and to the appropriate level of quality so that the delivered solutions are fit-for purpose and can be effectively supportedSupporting the creation and maintenance of design documentation so that support can be efficiently performed and the impact of future change requests can be assessedEnsuring that, following design and build, operations are able to take responsibility for the analysis and reporting of data - capacity, performance, security access, and network & projected usageProviding business-as-usual support for the implemented network during and outside of normal working hours if necessaryCarrying out diagnosis and investigation of anomalies or in response to incidentsSkills required:An undergraduate degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experienceCCNP/CCDP/CCIP or equivalent certifiedPrevious experience developing and supporting an integrated networking solution in a complex and similar scale enterprise environment, ideally using a Cisco infrastructurePrevious experience in all of the following:Network protocols LAN, WAN devices including high-end modular switches and routersWi-Fi technologies Monitoring / diagnostic tools Network security and VPN solutions Routing Protocols (e.g. OSPF, BGP)Multi VRF Environment and MPLS based VPNsPrevious experience or demonstrable understanding in all of the following:Data centre technologiesLoad balancing solutions IP Telephony and UC solutions Server hardware Network and Server Virtualization TechnologiesStorage technologies (SAN/NAS) IPAM systems Previous experience of successfully working with third party suppliers and operational areas to design, implement , maintain and repair network componentsSuccessfully installing or removing hware and/or software, using supplied installation instructions and toolsSenior Network Engineer, CCIP, CCNP, MPLS, 3rd Party, VPN,![]()
