A leading name within the telecoms market places requires a Network Operations Engineer with a solid background in 2nd/3rd line support of Cisco and Juniper devises
The role:
Strong customer verbal & written communication skills Highly 'Service' orientated with excellent customer facing skills Responsive and professional technical support of data services, from trouble ticket acceptance through to resolution Maintain professional working relationships with both internal and external bodies taking ownership of all 2nd /3rd line and network faults to achieve fault resolution To provide a 'Single Point of Contact' for second line support and network related issues. Proven experience in a technical operations role for an ISP or Telco Provide a technical single point of contact for all network fault issues Incident Management: take full ownership of customer/network issues until service has fully restored to provide 2nd /3rd line technical support for all products as required supporting internal and external customers to ensure contractual SLA metrics are met or exceeded at all times Identify single points of failure (SPOF) and take action to mitigate the associated risk Give support to the definition and documentation of processes and procedures to aid the continual development of the team to undertake routines as set out in departmental procedures Skills
required:CCNA, JNCIS at least one of these qualifications essential Riverbed, specifically steelhead and cascade platforms2nd line maintenance for Core routing Network elements , e.g. Juniper MX-Series, Brocade, Cisco Layer 2 Frame/SDH/ATM/Ethernet access technologies
Excellent understanding of routing protocols e.g. BGP, OSPF, RIP, MPLS, IPv6
Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP and interworking techniques
Understanding of terms 'Peering' and 'Communities'
Excellent understanding of complex IP VPN customer solutions
VOIP switching and interworking SIP
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Excellent debugging/analytical skills
Server operating environments and web hosting servers
Basic knowledge of DNS, HTTP, Email services
Full driving license
