Capacity Manager
£60K - £70K per annum
My client, a prestigious FTSE 100 organisation, are looking for a Capacity Manager to join their SAP Operations programme within the Technology Planning function to ensure that requirements for major upgrades and capacity increases are systematically planned and funded as well as maintaining a consistent overall schedule for upgrades and programme delivery.
The role is to manage a small team that works with SAP Operations, Strategy and Architecture and the Programmes of Work to determine what capacity increases are required due to trend growth, project activities and architecture changes to avoid service outages and last-minute requests. The postholder will need to refine and bring to life the process that has been defined as part of the SAP Operations programme, ensuring that the requirements of the various stakeholders are identified and met. It will also be necessary over the first 12 months to build a team of around four people and identify and implement an appropriate Capacity Management toolset to replace the initial spreadsheet-based system that has been defined.
Key accountabilities include:
* Drive and deliver development of the integrated capacity plan. Develop appropriate forecasting techniques and measures and establish appropriate tooling for management of the Capacity Plan and reporting on key metrics.
* Gather input to the Capacity Model from business IT teams, Programmes of Work and Strategy and Architecture.
* Monitor variances to the capacity plan, identifying and rectifying the underlying causes of any forecast inaccuracies.
* Balance the need to ensure that that sufficient capacity is added to systems in good time with the requirement to maximise resource utilisation.
Essential experience includes:
* Proven experience in driving and delivering the development of an integrated capacity plan for a complex global SAP landscape, able to reference the development appropriate forecasting techniques and measures and establish appropriate tooling for management as part of a Capacity Plan and associated reporting.
* Expert in the use of data manipulation and reporting tools
* ITIL certification
* Strong understanding of Capacity Management processes in an environment with tens of production systems of large scale
* Experience of implementing at least one Large-scale Infrastructure system
* SAP Basis experience.
