E-learning Instructional Designer

Undertake duties as part of the Learning and Development Team to develop and produce high quality technology-enhanced learning resources to offer a blend of learning opportunities for all Staff and Carers to enable them to be suitably trained and skilled in their specific area of work.

I) E Learning· Apply instructional design theories and practice to design and develop innovative e-learning courses in a structured and well written format.

· To develop and produce high quality technology-enhanced learning resources (e.g. interactive resources, summative and formative quizzes , digital narratives, screen-capture tutorials, etc.), for use within the virl learning environment Totara to support classroom and blended learning courses.
· To take a proactive role in the design, preparation and support of blended learning courses.
· Develop robust assessments to evaluate effectiveness of learning content.
· Work with internal colleagues and external suppliers to maintain purchased e-learning modules.
· To research and keep abreast of developments in the sector.

II) Learning Management System
· To create and maintain courses within the company's Learning Management System (Totara).
· Update and upload course material on to the Learning Management System (Totara).
· To contribute to the support and administration of the Learning Management System (Totara).

III) Management Accountabilities
· Work as part of the Learning and Development Team.
· Attend and contribute to regular Learning and Development Meetings.
· Maintain professional skills and knowledge in order to carry out the duties of post effectively.

IV)

Work in partnership with subject matter experts to design leading, online, course materials and assessments to a high professional standard.
· To provide support to students and staff in all aspects of e-learning, e.g. through email and telephone.
· To support internal colleagues in the development of technology-enhanced learning resources.

V) Business Information Systems
· Contribute to the quality assurance of learning resources and report any concerns and take appropriate action following procedures.

VI) Health and Safety
· Ensure Company policies and procedures in relation to Health and safety and Equal opportunities are adhered to at all times.
· Create and maintain a safe and clean working/training environment.


In addition the post holder will be expected to demonstrate that the Company's Vision and Values are at the centre of all they do.
· The post holder will be expected to undertake training deemed necessary for the pursuance of the post.
· The post holder will be expected to reach a minimum basic standard of I.T. competence to be able to use Company electronic systems effectively.
· The post holder will be expected to ensure to comply with Equal Opportunities Policy and Procedure in all employment practices.
· The post holder will be expected to comply with the no smoking policy in place and ensure that Health and Safety is observed in the course of employment
· Ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures, throughout all work within the Company, keeping the Regional Manager/ Director/ equivalent informed of work in progress and inform the Regional Manager/ Director/ equivalent immediately of any child protection matter or serious complaint.
