Senior Project Manager, Senior PM, Fixed Term Contract for 9 months, South Yorkshire, Rotherham, Sheffield, Doncaster, Leeds, Bradford, Barnsley, (with some travel to London when required) Finance/HR/Pensions experience, Business Change, PRINCE 2, FIXED TERM CONTRACT.
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a very successful public service provider with offices in Sheffield/ London who have become known as the most established business in their industry.
Please note this position will be offered on a 9 month fixed term basis.
The primary responsibility of the role is to deliver significant business change projects from concept to completion, ensuring that change is effectively embedded and enabling optimum benefits realisation. This position requires a February 2013 start.
Skills and experience:
· Proficient practitioner of a defined project management methodology e.g. PRINCE 2
· A demonstrable track record in business change management, including embedding change
· Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Word skills
· Very strong and flexible written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills
· PRINCE 2 project management qualification or equivalent
· Successful previous similar senior project management experience
· Experience of working with Board level sponsors and significant experience in presenting at senior management meetings
· Delivering Transition projects that bridge the gap between bid support and contract take on
· Development and maintenance of high profile, complex, project business cases
· Strong interpersonal effectiveness, recognising the need to, and being able to adapt influencing strategies
· The ability to communicate clearly and concisely - when talking, presenting or writing
· To be flexible and adaptable, maintaining professional integrity whilst tailoring process and methodology, rather than being unduly led or constrained by it
· The ability to lead and inspire people as well as plan and manage delivery
· Strong facilitation skills including a creative and engaging approach to problem solving
· Personal drive and resilience to overcome hurdles and barriers, managing issues and risks to satisfactory conclusions
· The ability to coach and develop others within a matrix management structure
This position would ideally suit a candidate with PM experience in either a finance/ HR/ pensions project environment.
In return the client are offering a base salary of £44,000 - £60,000 depending on experience (salary will work on a pro rata basis due to the nature of the contract)
