Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer - ETL Cube SQL Server 2008 R2 OLTP DB SSIS SSAS OLAP MOLAP/ROLAP SharePoint Tableau MCTIP
Our client, a prestigious e-commerce business are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to join the Technology team. This is a permanent position based in one of the best parts of London.
Due to the businesses huge success, this is a newly created role which has come as part of the expansion project. The successful candidate will be part of their database team which is responsible for providing database development, reporting development and supporting production systems. You will work with other DBAs, SQL developers and BI developers. You're primary area will be the on-going development and support of the companies BI solutions.
You will be expected to:
-Review current BI infrastructure and recommend changes and improvements
-Develop, document, implement, and oversee database policies/methods and processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy
-Design and implement a partitioning strategy across the BI dimensional data warehouses
-Performance tune existing ETL routines and Cube processing
-Configure Reporting services according to Microsoft best practices
-Respond to and resolve issues with data loading /data warehouse and cube and performance
-Give technical guidance and training to the rest of the database
About you
They are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence developer with 5 to 8 years who is truly passionate about BI design, performance and best practices and can demonstrate a high level of experience in supporting complex BI systems using the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 BI toolset and Kimball development methodology. You’ll have:
* Experience working with SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise and Standard editions on a 64 bit platform
* Experience in working with highly transactional OLTP DBs over 250GB in size
* Experience working with database Mirroring, snapshots and CDC
* Up to date knowledge of database server best practices for database files, file groups, memory utilisation, partitioning
* Demonstrable knowledge of the Kimball development methodology, dimensional modelling
* Highly experienced in designing and implementing SSIS ETL frameworks
* Advanced TSQL querying and programming skills and MDX
* Experience of creating reports in SSRS and other reporting tools including Report Builder and
Power Pivot
* Experience of SSAS OLAP cubes, Calculated Measures, MOLAP/ROLAP partitions, Aggregations
* Good knowledge of BI data mining tools and techniques
* Presentation tools such as Tableau, Business Objects, SharePoint etc.
* Knowledge of SQL server internals a plus
* MCITP in Business Intelligence a plus
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Strong Analytical approach and planning ability
* Strong emphasis on documentation and standards of best practice.
* Ability to multi-task
* Be comfortable working in an environment that is constantly changing
