My client, a high profile oil & gas company, is looking for a Data & Information Management Lead with experience of IT Upstream Oil & Gas to join their team in Sunbury.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the IT&S Data & Information Manager for Operations & Engineering the Data & Information Management Lead is responsible for supporting the delivery of key components of the Data Management Strategy.
The scope of this role includes:
· Managing the implementation of a OSE DM professional discipline and organisation
· Maintain and further develop end to end information flows that tie to the broader business workflows
· Provide Data Management expertise to selected Common Solutions projects
· Engage with key stakeholders to ensure effective communications
The priority for 2013 will be the support for a major change programme.
Strategy:
Follows the OSE Data Management Strategy and provides input into the OSE Common Solutions Delivery Strategy. Translates detailed business requirements into technical and business solutions. Works closely with the OSE Function stakeholders to define the workflows and processes required for successful implementations.
Professional discipline:
Supports the Implementation of an information management professional discipline and organisation structure into the central OSE segment function and regions, on-boarding the new members and ensuring alignment with data management stakeholders.
Process mapping
Creates end to end information flow documentation for the key OSE business processes, ensuring applications, data and information stores and key business flows are detailed.
Project engagement
Provides Data Management expertise to selected Common Solutions projects and programmes to ensure data management standards and strategies are followed.
Communications and Engagement:
Ensures relationships between all stakeholders are appropriately managed. Communicates with multiple Regions and central functional organizations. Participates in appropriate Communities of Interest. Promotes availability of future Commons Solutions through adequate marketing and advertising with the global workforce.
Experience & Knowledge:
Essential:
· Deep knowledge of both IT and Upstream Production Operations key business processes and how data management relates to this
· Experience with Management of Change and/or organisation change
· Advanced experience in Organisational design and implementation
· Advanced experience of working with Data Management projects
· Experience working with technical teams, business analysts and process subject matter experts across various IT Functions and geographies
Desirable
· Track record of collective project delivery and embedding business value improvement
· Thorough knowledge of a stage gate decision process and underlying project methodologies
· Relevant PM accreditation (e.g. PMP, AMP, PRINCE 2 Practitioner)
· In depth knowledge of the control processes and procedures required to maintain the integrity of data and information
· Sound awareness of best practice in company procedures impacting the processes of managing data
· Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Information Technology or Upstream related disciplines (Production, Operations) with a heavy dependency/usage of data
