Infrastructure Programme Manager/Director

An exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Programme Manager/Director to join a fast paced, established organisation in East Midlands.

Responsibilities:

·Responsible for devising, organising, and implementing high scale IT infrastructure projects that are very complex in nature, overseeing colleagues and third party providers that are divided into various project teams.
·Supervises work execution, provides resolution for problems, maintains programme schedules, reports on project status, accounts for project cost, time and budget, seeks approval, and mitigates programme risks.
·Plans and implements key infrastructure upgrades ensuring that the delivery of new products and/or services from the projects is to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, according to the plans.
·Works with colleagues to produce plans for implementing infrastructure and technology solutions across the whole IT architecture.
·Participate in all aspects of infrastructure delivery. This includes working with the IT and Project Manager(s), participating in project planning, liaison with third parties, design, documentation, implementation, maintenance and support arrangements.
·To ensure all technology solutions implemented are well documented, that local support arrangements are in place and that local IT resources are trained and can operationally continue to support the solution implemented. Takes responsibility for the quality assurance and overall integrity of projects.
·Report and communicate regularly and effectively on progress made against the agreed road-map and milestones.
·Publish work plans that provide visibility of forthcoming work and allow others to discuss and influence priorities.
·Regularly review all projects assigned and take corrective action when necessary.· Liaise with other IT and business managers to ensure constant alignment with business requirements. Maintain in-depth knowledge of company's strategic business plans and maintain the strategic technical road-map for the Group.
·Provide expert services to service teams like troubleshooting and performance tuning.
·To carry out negotiations for the supply of equipment and services, as authorised by the Service and Operations IT Director.
·Management of all staff in these areas including career development, appraisals, recruitment, induction and on-going training.
·Build and maintain customer relationships.
·Produce management, account and performance reports to an agreed schedule or upon request.
·Assist colleagues in the preparation of annual budgets and monitor the budgets in the appropriate areas.
· Motivate, manage and develop staff as to maximise their efficiency and development to their full potential, including performance appraisals and counselling

The jobholder will have the key role in delivering the IT strategy to the entire Group and will strongly influence decisions on expenditure of large sums of money (up to £millions) and on the realisation of major profit earning projects.

You will have 5-8 Direct Reports and another 20-30 Indirect Reports.

A background in retail, logistics, FMCG, supply chain, leisure or hospitality are of preference.
