Framework Lead Developer - Canary Wharf
My client, a high profile Oil & Gas company, is looking for a Framework Lead Developer to join their team in Canary Wharf.
Role synopsis:
Front Office acknowledges the value of re-use and standard toolkits shared across the front office teams. To enable this, the formation of a dedicated framework is necessary. This team will be responsible for existing framework technologies along with the creation and on boarding of new solutions from architecture and line of business. The team will be geographically split between the US and UK providing third line support for its products. A key requirement of this role is to work with line of business teams to ensure the successful adoption of a framework. Therefore a level of rotation between teams is necessary.
Key accountabilities:
The Framework team lead is responsible for the day to day delivery and support of multiple front office frameworks. The lead will coordinate and prioritise multi work streams with the Chief Front Office Technical Architect.
Responsibilities will be:
* Integrating an existing Framework with Line of business teams.
* Development and operationalization of a new Framework.
* Supporting and maintenance of an existing framework.
* Supporting front TFS, developer portal.
* Act as Scrum master and also supervise quality control of frameworks.
General Skills:
* Develop scalable, reusable components and application frameworks using .Net, Java and C++.
* Work with other developers, business analysts and testers as part of the wider team.
* Undertake analysis of systems, business processes, data, and interfaces.
* Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and makes recommendations.
* Assist with establishing an effective environment for rapid application development.
* Liaise between technology teams, support teams, other developers, and business units to analyse, review, and develop framework solutions specified by architecture.
* Interpret data requirements and data models that underpin a solution.
* Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and makes recommendations.
* Contribute to the overall implementation of tactical and strategic projects.
Essential experience and job requirements:
* Must have extensive experience using C#. Has current exposure to the latest Java and .Net technologies.
* Has experience of running small teams of developers and mentored and developed junior members of the team.
* Experience in the latest .NET technologies. WPF, WCF, Silverlight.
* Must understand Web Services.
* Good experience of creating a Software Factory i.e. Version control, Continuous integration etc. Preferably Microsoft TFS.
* Application Architecture - can design multi-tiered applications, services. Knows what a good design is not just what a design pattern is. In depth knowledge of Dependency Injection/Inversion of Control and Test Driven Development, and clear understanding of modern GUI framework architecture (MVC/MVP/MVVM/MVPVM).
* Should be able to show evidence of writing Desktop, Web (ASP.NET or Struts) and Service type applications.
Other essential skills and knowledge:
* Must be good at communicating ideas preferably visually (needs to be able to describe things well on whiteboard).
* A basic understanding of financial products (e.g. Options, Futures etc.).
Desirable criteria & qualifications:
* An understanding of integration i.e. TIBCO EMS, JSON, REST, Socket Communications.
* Database knowledge SQL Server, Oracle, NOSQL or Semi Structured.
* Has used Market Data platforms like RMDS, Market Map, 29West and has an understanding of real time and historical Market data systems (i.e. Reuters, Bloomberg, ProphetX, LIM, and Morningstar).
* Possible Grid experience. Complex event processing, Stream processing and cache technologies would be a bonus.
