An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Network Design Specialist, to work for one of the most exciting and fastest growing retailers in the UK, at their Manchester office.

The primary objective of the role is to coordinate the design, support and implementation of data and voice networks across all areas covered. You will need to lead the design and specification of the network infrastructure, and ensure fitness for propose of the data network through appropriate design and selection of technologies in line with strategic priorities. You will act as the centre of expertise and an escalation point for all existing network infrastructure across all business divisions, with a variety of IP/ Voice technologies. You shall support stakeholders to deliver their business plans, often with multiple projects running concurrently. For this reason, you should have strong communication and influencing skills, with an ability to drive continuous improvement through superior design and use of the technical infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL skills:
· At least CCNP certified and working towards further Cisco qualifications
· Experienced in configuring and deploying Firewalls and DMZ's
· Experienced on a wide range of networking platforms, primarily Cisco
· Experienced in designing and maintaining IPT platforms, primarily Avaya
· Experienced in designing large networks and working with data centre environments
· Excellent core routing and switching skills
· Able to design service orientated network architectures (with knowledge of infrastructure virtualisation)
· Experienced in delivering large projects as well as designing (802.1x experience desirable)
· Flexibility in terms of working hours will be essential
