My Client, a household brand Media company are looking for a junior or graduate Web Developer to join a growing Team.

The role would be developing products/widgets/microsites within an escenic content management system (escenic 5.3,).
Must be pro-active, and able to gather user requirements and discuss/suggest solutions with the team.
Build commercial micro-sites
* Use javascript, CSS and HTML, to build promotions for various clients API Build/integration
* Need to be able to use APIs to build/adapt widgets e.g Facebook, twitter, other technologies)
* Build custom video players using Brightcove technology
* Be able to go into the Brightcove tutorials and work out how to customise video templates (HTML5, CSS, and Javascript)
Troubleshooting and testing
* If a piece of functionality doesn't work on a page systematically be able to run through a page integrating code and troubleshooting, e.g. if a video consistently doesn't deliver advertising go onto the staging site and troubleshoot code to see if it's any of the Javascript functionality causing problems
XML/Feed integrations
* Create and adapt XML/RSS feeds for various technology partners suppliers e.g. mobile and ipad apps
Bug tracking and task updating
* Be able to raise bugs using Bug Tracking tool (Jira)
* Input/update tasks via Jira
Coding Standards
* Familiar with these e.g. W3C, best practice, well documented/commented code
New technologies
* Ability to research new technologies and pick up as required/if feasible
Communication and "soft skills"
* Someone who can discuss technical solutions with editorial and commercial teams,e.g. to be able to sit down with team members/stakeholders and explain/propose solutions that would fit within the limitations of the Escenic CMS
* Self-starter, someone who will get on and do things, can prioritise own workload
Ability to deal with Ad-hoc requests
* Deal with any ad -hoc requests which may have to be executed under pressurised situations
