Cisco Network Engineer Contract - CCNA, CCNP, PIX, ASA,
A leading organisation based in Manchester is looking for an IT Networks Engineer to join their highly acclaimed technical team on a 3-6month contract.
The role holder will be tasked with supporting business critical production environments with very high systems availability constraints, working to ITIL best practice services support and change management process.
You will provide hands on IT Networks configuration & Support expertise for day to day operations of existing solutions with an emphasis on Cisco Switches, Routers, Firewalls (PIX,ASA), Physical network cabling and fibres and WAN Technologies. The successful candidate will also provide Network technical expertise for the implementation of projects and changes to the existing IT networks infrastructure in a controlled manner working to best practice methodologies.
To be considered for this role it is imperative that you have demonstrable commercial experience working at a 2nd/3rd line level on all technical and administrative aspects of firewalls, storage, LAN, WAN network infrastructures. In particular this should include experience with Cisco networks including routers, switches and firewalls. Furthermore you should have experience in live operational enterprise network environments with good experience of VPN design and deployment, able to troubleshoot complex network problems, carrying out design, specification and configuration across a network infrastructure.
They currently also have legacy Linux kit so it is advantageous if you have experience in this area too. It would also be desirable to have experience of Brocade load balancers and in particular EMC Clarion SAN's however this is not essential. Due to the sustained growth their will be a large degree of project work in the future including upgrading the infrastructure and networks to world class standards etc.
To be considered for this opportunity it is essential that you are:
· Cisco Certified to a minimum of CCNA
· Have a thorough understanding of IT Infrastructure consisting of design, configuration and support of complex IT Networks in a secure environment
· Have knowledge and experience of networking technologies including routers, switches and firewalls. · Experience of Windows Servers 2003-2008, along with experience of SANS will also be essential, experience of EMC SANS would be desirable
This is a 3 month contract with the possibility of an extension to 6 months paying a daily rate of £300 - £350.
