Commissioning Strategic Adviser required for our local government client. We need a candidate with a track record in strategic commissioning, stakeholder management and experience of managing large external spend in the hundreds of millions. This individual will be key in helping deliver a programme of work to ensure commissioning meets the organisation needs and political aims of our client. You will challenge current working methods, bring innovation and help develop the thinking and approach. You will have a high level of commercial acumen with skills in negotiation and financial management as well as strategic procurement skills. You will demonstrate the ability to implement major transformation programmes and focus on supporting people through change. Candidates must also have experience of identifying and managing risks and manage conflicts between competing stakeholders as well as hold detailed knowledge of the commissioning environment including procurement, contract management and organisational redesign to support the successful delivery of a new commissioning approach. Awareness of the public sector/local government is required, and ideally EC procurement.
