Senior Developer of Business Applications (Data Warehouse - ETL)
Harvey Nash is looking for a Senior Business Applications Developer with a Data Warehouse and ETL focus on behalf of one of Australia’s leading digital media businesses. Based in the Sydney CBD, this is a high profile career opportunity with a world famous organisation.
Position:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the architecture of our client’s DW and ETL business applications. Driving the technical strategy behind them you will develop, support and maintain the applications to assist internal customers.
A Pioneer for new technologies and techniques you will work to create solutions to technical risks and issues to match the requirements of the business.
You will possess an ability to take requirements, develop scenarios and backlog appropriately using SCRUM. Whilst an ability to project scope, write clear technical documentation and perform functional and regression testing will also be necessary.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to act as a technology evangelist and play a key role in large scale change.
Key attributes:
* Good working knowledge of application quality assurance processes’ - unit testing, system testing and UAT
* Complete SDLC commercial software development experience
* A number of years technical team leading experience
* Experience working with leading ETL and BI tools and a proven track record with Microsoft BI/DW technologies including SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS and SSAS
* Star schema/multidimensional data modelling experience
* Demonstrated experience with Kimball or Inmon approaches to data warehousing
This position will demand a commitment to quality and a thorough approach to work, using a problem solving approach day-to-day. The successful candidate will be a strong multi-tasker, with competent time management and organisational skills. The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team is necessary, whilst demonstrating a desire to coach others and to facilitate knowledge transfer.
